TUESDAY
(The first two paragraphs were for Sue and Ned Watkins. [They had just been married:])
.... your unity. And to feel your unity with All That Isâand know you are a part of it. You should have known that you could not escape my ceremonyâand my ceremony is a ceremony of the skies and treesâand even of the grass. My ceremony is a ceremony that does not need ceremony âfor it speaks through all seasons and it rises and it speaks through you. And as you sit here now so you have existed many times. And the ceremony is not new. Autumns and springs are not new. You sit here with new youth and new vitalityânew, but ancientâfor there is no newness that does not have an ancient heritage. You will walk down many alleyways and many front avenues, and so you have and so you will again, but in this life you will walk them together, as you knew you would. And you knew you would meet here and that I would speak to you here, and there is no beauty that you imagine that is not possible. The dreams that you have will come to pass but beware of the fearsâfor fears also come to passârip them out. The joys must be forever newâfor they are new with an ancient heritage.
You must look into the face of vulnerability to find joy. You cannot find a joy unless you accept vulnerability. Even the gods know vulnerabilityâand that is why they live. And because I have known vulnerability, I am still alive. I give you then all the peace and joy that you can hold. But you cannot hold peace and joy like a stone in your hand. For it goes through you and out into others.
You need knowâyou need know nothingâyou need know nothing in intellectual terms. You know all behind words, and in parts of you that are beyond speech. You do not need words. You do not need my wordsâbut I speak them. I speak the words so you will realize you do not need them. And looking at you now, it is not that I see through youâit is that I see the yous that you do not realize you are. So loâyour joy and peaceâand let it be with you in the old ways of these days, realizing that these days are alwaysâand yet that there are more days than these, and other times and other places. And so peace and joy be with you in all days.
Now I bless you, but the blessings must come from yourselves. The real blessings must come from yourselves. You must realize that you are one with All That Is, and within you is the only one who can give blessings, and you must be willing to accept the blessing that only you can give, and the joy that only you can give to yourselves and to one another.
There should never be a word in any language that means repentance.
